Child Care for CT members joined advocates and lawmakers at the Friends Center for Children in New Haven for a bill signing on two childcare bills that passed this legislative session. Our coalition fought hard to pass this bill that created a new childcare fund for CT, and we won! Watch us make news on WTNH News8.
We applaud everyone involved for their hard work to simplify CT’s childcare system and set it up for future success. These bills don’t #FixChildCare, but they are a great start and build the momentum to take us into the next legislative session. Your advocacy made this possible – and we’re NOT stopping now. To fix child care, our state leaders need to take the next step and invest money into the fund.
Thank you to everyone involved, especially Rep. Kate Farrar, Rep. Michelle Cook, and the Early Childhood Caucus for their commitment to keeping Child Care at the top of the legislative agenda. This session also wouldn’t have been possible without the partnership with CT Voices, The Connecticut Project, and the Early Childhood Alliance. We now have an incredible opportunity in the next legislative session to work with our champions in government to create a childcare system that works for children, families, and the economy. We can’t wait to kick off the next phase of our fight with you this fall!
